Advanex Europe Ltd - Nottingham

Category: Office Interiors
Location: Nottingham

Services undertaken
Office interior design and space planning | 3D visualisation | External aluminium doors | UPVC windows | Feature graphics and bespoke manifestation | suspended ceilings | Jumbo fire rated partitions | acoustic partitions | frameless glass partitions | bespoke joinery | carpeting and vinyl flooring | Decoration | project management and fit out | Furniture specification and installation | signage  Air Conditioning | Complete electrical & data installation | Storage wall and AV Boardroom furniture | CDM

Description

When our designers first visited Advanex’s Bilborough offices they were faced with compartmentalised thick block offices throughout. The offices were dated and gloomy with no daylight penetrating the internal offices. The flow of spaces and interconnectivity was also greatly prohibited by the setup of the internal block walls with various adhoc rooms being added on over the years. Likewise the existing services were in need of complete overhaul.

The client’s brief was clear from the outset; completely gut and modernise the existing Ground Floor offices in order to provide a high-end open plan office with support spaces. In addition to the complete refit of the interior, external elements such as windows were to be replaced. A modern aluminium glazed screen and double door was installed to create a new main entrance, providing a great first impression.

Following the complete strip out our skilled fitters set about realising the new design scheme. In contrast to the previous gloomy, compartmented spaces; the extended office space was now light and airy with partly screened off zones using striking manifestation designs on to glazed partitions. For the first time there was now an impressive dedicated Reception space with Meeting facility adjacent leading into to the main offices. To the rear a large Training and Meeting Room incorporating A/V equipment was introduced. The Open Plan office incorporates an abundance of storage space including fitted full height storage wall and standing height storage units that helped sub-divide the various departments.

In contrast to the drab and industrial office look from yesteryear the new interior design scheme has completely rejuvenated the offices. Incorporating bold graphics combined with contrasting furniture finishes and funky flooring design the scheme provides the staff with a vibrant working environment. In addition the overhaul of the M&E services coupled with the upgrade to the perimeter windows now provides a healthier environment that is more sustainable incorporating natural ventilation, efficient A/C systems and LED lighting.

BPW - Leicester

 boardroom

Project Overview:
BPW Ltd is a multi-national engineering company and Europe’s largest supplier of axels. Upon acquisition of a further large office building and warehouse they wanted to cement themselves as the market leader by creating a first class office environment for staff and visitors. Looking for the wow factor, DSP was approached to tender for the works and submit our design ideas.

We were delighted to fight off the competition and be chosen to take complete control of the project on the strength of our design proposals and ability to undertake a fit out of this magnitude. The scheme entailed the complete re-design and fit out of the 2 storey office block. Working with BPW was a great experience – we were instructed to ‘take them out of their comfort zone’ and create something uniquely special ... and that is what we set out to do.

Moving away from static boxes, the space plan embraces free flowing curves creating a series of bespoke offices where no two offices are the same. Wrapping around generous open corridors, all of the client’s wish list was incorporated ensuring the design not only looked good but was completely functional. A key feature of the project was the breakout areas, agile meeting spaces and a large Boardroom for entertaining important clients from all over the world.

The interior design scheme incorporates various unique features to the offices including specialist brushed aluminium effect doors, expanses of glazing with feature manifestation, curved storagewall with alternate door colours and a bespoke Boardroom AV presentation wall amongst others. All of these features were brought together to reflect the nature of the company and subtly infuse their corporate identity. The breakout areas were brought to life with digitally printed wall graphics.

The final result is fantastic and we are very proud of the work at BPW.

“An approachable, professional company who listened to our brief and executed it very well with an end product that was both pleasing on the eye and functional as a workplace. They put forward innovative ideas, which, although initially took us out of our 'comfort zone', were exactly what we were looking for.”  Rosie Underhill, BPW Ltd.

Location:
Leicester

Services undertaken

Office interior design and space planning | Feature graphics and bespoke manifestation | acoustic partitions & acoustic battening | frameless glass partitions | bespoke joinery | Decoration | project management and fit out | Specialist write on – wipe off presentation wall

Description
Due to expansion and to ensure their premises facilitated operations long term, Newtons 4th Ltd acquired a 3 storey office building in a key location in Leicester. Newtons 4th Ltd design, manufacture and support innovative electronic equipment specialising in sophisticated test equipment so the new premises needed to support a variety of operations on the site.

DSP were charged with the interior fit out of all three floors which had a variety of functions on each. Ground Floor included the main operation of the business with deliveries, storage and general works. First Floor level included a dedicated training and meeting facility, large agile breakout canteen area, storage and calibration operations. Second floor housed the main offices and day-to-day management of the company.

A variety of partitions were installed including composite, single glazed and acoustic plasterboard partitions. Acoustics were particularly important within the offices at second floor so acoustic slabs were installed to retain acoustic integrity.

Branding, feature graphics and write on / wipe off walls were installed in various locations around the building. Striking manifestation was created for the glazed partitions that incorporated the sound wave used within their logo. A large world map adjusted in Newtons 4th colours was installed within the agile breakout to create a talking piece and highlight N4L locations worldwide.

The client, Stuart Chappell further explains:

“Having purchased a building that had the potential to meet the future needs of Newtons4th, we wanted to fit out the new facility in a way that would both meet our practical needs and provide a visual impact in keeping with our business. Soon after meeting Andy Priestley on his first site visit, it became clear that while clearly paying attention to our objectives, DSP were able to introduce ideas born from experience that would result in a better solution. From this first meeting and subsequent planning stage to the efficient implementation of agreed work and a keen attention to detail, DSP excelled. To anyone considering an office fit out or refurbishment, I would happily recommend DSP Interiors.”

Office design by DSP Interiors at EQS

EQS Ltd - Leicester

Category: Office interiors
Location:
Leicester

Work Undertaken:

| Office interior design and space planning | Feature graphics and bespoke manifestation | Insulated dry lining | Suspended ceilings | Acoustic partitions | Frameless glass partitions | Bespoke joinery | Carpeting and vinyl flooring | Decoration | Furniture specification and installation | Electrics, data and lighting | Air conditioning and ventilation | Project management and fit out | Building control application |

Project Overview:
EQS Ltd is one of the leading distributors of products for patchwork, quilting and home sewing in Europe. DSP were approached by EQS Ltd in the first instance to provide a quotation to undertake the fit out works for an initial plan. EQS had a warehouse space located within the same building and wanted to create a head office for operations but also to act as a marketing hub for the range of products they distributed. The unit of the building scheduled to move in to was totally unfinished and required a complete fit out including upgrading thermal elements, dry lining, ceilings partitions and building services.

After consultation and analysis of all the clients’ requirements, we were able to completely re-evaluate the concept. Our designers saw an opportunity to develop the initial plans, removing large expanses of corridor and utilising the space better. In doing so the floor space became more fluid with the demarcated corridor flowing around the clusters of teams, partially separated by free standing curved screens. Fully glazed partitions either side of the open plan office provided private meeting spaces and two enclosed offices.

The interior design scheme was chosen to complement the range of products distributed by EQS Ltd. Purples, Gingers and Greys were incorporated with plenty of white spaces for the client to display products throughout the offices. Random frosted manifestation bands with cut out logos and slogans were applied to the various faceted curved glazed partitions to add an interesting but subtle back drop. Furniture desking systems, task chairs and soft seating were all specified and installed by DSP allowing the whole scheme to work well as a whole.

DSP undertook all elements of the project from interior design, building services, furniture specification and installation, project management and so forth; allowing us to complete the remarkable transformation of a bare structure through to a fully functioning office space in minimal time and with maximum impact.

EUM Ltd office design by DSP Interiors

EUM Ltd - Solihull

Category: Office Interiors
Location: Solihull

Work undertaken:

| Office interior space planning  | Acoustic partitions | Frameless glass partitions | Bespoke joinery and general joinery | Carpeting, tiled and vinyl flooring | Decoration | Storage wall | Amenities and toilets | Toilet cubicles, vanity units and duct panelling | Project management and fit out |

Project Overview:
EUM Consultants Ltd is one of the UK’s largest providers of home energy efficiency surveys that aim to help clients save money and reduce their carbon footprints. After deciding to move offices from Fort Dunlop to more suitable premises in Solihull; DSP were approached via marketing consultants, The Marketing Pod, to undertake the design and fit out.

From the outset EUM wanted to create a striking interior that emulated aspects of their services and provide a vibrant workspace for their relocated staff. The final design aimed to break up the ‘boxy’ L-shaped building layout by introducing various curved feature areas including flooring, glass screens and bespoke graphics. Upon entering the offices, clients are greeted with a striking reception/holding area with feature walls, bespoke curved reception desk and impressive background graphics to the seated area of a stylised windmill scene. Another notable focal point of the reception area was the bespoke signage of the company logo supplied and fitted by DSP.

Beyond the reception area the layout flows through into the open plan office that leads onto an enclosed office and presentation room/ Boardroom. Further use of impressive graphics and fully glazed partitions create a really spacious, vibrant feel to the workspace. The use of glazed partitions and partially screened off areas allows all the space to feel interconnected whilst allowing for privacy where required. Other unique features include the Bbreakout space and a full scale vector graphic applied to a bank of storage wall adjacent to the Boardroom.

The colour scheme for the project was very much eco - earthy and various textures were introduced via specialist wall vinyls, feature carpets cut into the existing dark flooring and feature graphics. Further accent colours and textures were incorporated using the desking systems, screens and seating specified by DSP.

DSP provided a number of key services for the project with an impressive end result. The bold and striking interior was very well received by the client:

“We went down today, it’s looking amazing! You guys are doing a fantastic job.”

Jenny Hughes, The Marketing Pod.

Project Overview:
Over the course of many years DSP have undertaken various refurbishments for Rolls-Royce at their Moor Lane and Airline campus buildings in Derby. Having worked on a range of exciting projects DSP have been involved in the refurbishment of the majority of the many floors.

The building footprints of both the Moor Lane and Airline buildings are shallow plan. This makes them ideal for incorporating sustainability features and provides plenty of connectivity with the outside world for staff via large glazed perimeters. Our experience of dealing with these particular sites and the Rolls-Royce property management team allows us to provide the most economical solutions; whilst providing a first class design and fit out service. It also helps us achieve usually tight timescales for projects, reducing costs for Rolls-Royce.

All projects are governed by the global standards set out by the property management team. DSP understand the need for uniformity and quality of build, ensuring each of our fit outs is the same high standard expected by Rolls-Royce. We have adapted and collaborated with Rolls-Royce as their workplace strategy has evolved over the years. We have provided advice and guidance based on our experience and knowledge in the profession as we also grow as a design-led interior company.

Our own expanding portfolio of products and brands we work with, along with experience and training has also helped us stay current with the market trends. Our involvement on these floors has ranged from reconfiguration of existing partitions through to turnkey projects. From computer flooring installation, suspended ceilings and decoration through to glazed partitions, acoustic treatment and bespoke joinery; DSP have provided an extensive array of high quality services.

We are proud of the relationship we have built up with Rolls-Royce, working both directly and for their main contractors. We continue to work extensively across their vast portfolio of buildings on a range of challenging projects.

Trimble interior design project by DSP Interiors

Trimble - Derby

Location: Derby

Work undertaken
:
| Office interior design and space planning | Acoustic partitions | Acoustic double glazed glass partitions | Bespoke manifestation | Bespoke joinery | Feature walls | Kitchen and amenity | Flooring | Decoration | Project management and fit out | Furniture specification and installation |

Project Overview:
Having recently acquired office space in the sought after Pride Park business centre, Trimble, a world leader in positioning technology such as GPS, were looking to develop one of the floors into a training centre.

After consultation with a number of local interior fit out firms, Trimble appointed DSP as their preferred contractor for the project. Having undertaken many projects within the Pride Park development, DSP had a good understanding of the high standard expected from these business interiors.

DSP worked closely with Trimble to ensure that all the 'wish-list' facilities were included within the design, taking in to consideration the need for good acoustics and higher end finishes.
