DSP (Interiors) Ltd have recently completed the design and fit out of welfare facilities at the East Midlands base of an international mining and minerals company.
The existing amenity block was outdated and required a significant upgrade, so the principal aim of the project was to refresh the facilities to create an environment that would enhance employee wellbeing and productivity.
Welfare facilities are often overlooked or not seen as a priority but investment by our long-standing client demonstrates their commitment to staff wellbeing and boosting employee satisfaction. Given the importance of retaining staff and the modern dilemma of attracting workers back to the office, initiatives like this are crucial.
We were commissioned to carry out space planning, interiors, and systems design and specification.
The project involved the comprehensive refurbishment and expansion of existing welfare facilities comprising the male, female and drivers’ amenities including toilets, showers and changing facilities.
This extensive refurbishment project also included a strip out, the installation of new ceilings, partitions, cubicles, showers and flooring, plumbing, along with electrical works, lockers and benches.
The fit out has had a huge impact on the facilities, giving a much-needed refresh and expanding the capacity. The amenities are now in line with the high standards of the rest of the workplace.
