Our recent showroom fit-out for RW Cars, an award-winning used car dealership in Derby, is a perfect example of how thoughtful design and expert craftsmanship can transform a space.
With RW Cars expanding its operations, they needed a modern, customer-focused showroom that reflected their brand and enhanced both the buying experience and operational efficiency. From the initial consultation to the final finishing touches, we worked closely with them to bring their vision to life.
The Process: From Concept to Completion
Consultation & Planning
The project began with an in-depth consultation to understand RW Cars’ requirements. They wanted a space that was stylish, inviting, and practical—somewhere customers would feel comfortable while ensuring the team could operate efficiently. Our team provided expert guidance, discussing layout options, materials, and features that would enhance both aesthetics and usability.
Design & Space Optimisation
Once the vision was established, we developed a bespoke showroom design that combined open-plan functionality with distinct zones for sales and customer engagement. The plan included six private glass-fronted sales offices, a modern customer lounge, and a reimagined layout that optimised both workflow and customer interaction.
Construction & Fit-Out
With the designs finalised, our team moved into the fit-out phase. The first step was to strip back the existing space, removing redundant partitions, kitchen units, and ceiling systems to create a blank canvas. We then installed acoustic solid dividing walls to define the sales offices, ensuring privacy while maintaining an open and modern aesthetic with full-height glass frontages.
To enhance the showroom, we incorporated a part height curved feature wall, subtly screening the customer lounge while maintaining a sense of openness. A suspended ceiling was installed under the mezzanine, integrating modern LED ring pendants, which provide a stylish yet functional lighting solution that elevates the space.
Attention to detail is key in any fit-out, and RW Cars’ showroom was no exception. We installed luxury vinyl plank flooring in the customer lounge area for a sleek, durable finish, while the gradient-style carpet tiles in the sales offices added warmth and comfort. The warehouse and office walls were repainted, giving the entire space a fresh, modern look. We then installed custom manifestations to the glass frontages and a bespoke display slat wall, reinforcing brand identity and creating a cohesive visual flow throughout the showroom.
