Today, we’re shining a spotlight on Harrison, who is making fantastic progress in his Interior Systems Installer Level 2 course, specialising in Partitions & Ceilings.
Harrison’s Journey So Far
Since joining DSP (Interiors) last year, Harrison has shown an impressive work ethic and enthusiasm for learning on-site. His training with GFTS is providing him with a strong technical foundation, while hands-on experience under the mentorship of long-standing DSP fitter John Coates is helping him refine his practical abilities. By working closely with our experienced team, Harrison is gaining invaluable industry insights, increasing his confidence and competence with every project.
A Day in Harrison’s Life
Every day as an apprentice at DSP (Interiors) presents new challenges and learning experiences. Here’s what a typical day might look like for Harrison:
Morning:
Harrison starts his day by checking in with his mentor and the team, reviewing project plans, preparing materials for the day’s tasks. Whether it’s measuring and cutting components for partition systems or planning ceiling installations, he ensures everything is set up for a productive day ahead.
Midday:
The afternoon is all about hands-on learning. Under the guidance of skilled fitters, Harrison applies his training in real-world settings, working on partition frameworks, ceiling grids, and installation techniques. This is where he gains the most valuable experience, enhancing his precision and efficiency with each task.
Afternoon:
As the day winds down, Harrison reflects on the progress made, discussing key takeaways with his mentor. He takes note of his tasks completed for his coursework and sends this to his assessor at GFTS.
Making an impact onsite
Recently, Harrison has been putting his skills to the test on one of our latest projects at RW Cars. Our team have been incredibly impressed with how quickly Harrison has adapted to the demands of on-site work. With his dedication and passion for the trade, we have no doubt that he will go on to achieve great things. As he continues his apprenticeship, we look forward to witnessing his development and celebrating his future successes at DSP (Interiors).
